Making Backup

The simplest way to do a back up is to:

  1. shutdown the New Fire Server
  2. archive the whole newfire directory  (It may require root permission for Linux platform)
  3. back up the database
  4. restart the New Fire Server

You can also back up individual directories as needed.

Data Directory

Data directory is located at <newfire>/data. It contains all your object definition, customization, system parameters and other non-database-bound data.

Database

For Series 2000 server, database backup is required. Please consult your database vendor on how to backup your database. This database backup should always match the corresponding data directory backup.

Log Directory

Log directory is located at <newfire>/log. It contains your log files. The lastest log file is in use if the server is running.

Locales Directory

Locales directory is located at <newfire>/locales. It contains all locale specific messages. You need to back up this directory if you changed any of the messages.

Html Directory
